Bridal Shows - Why They Are A Great Help In Wedding Planning!

Are bridal shows worth attending? In a word - absolutely!

But first, what is a bridal fair or bridal expo?  A bridal fair  is a showcase of offerings by different vendors who are involved in producing a wedding. They are held in large hotel ballrooms and convention centers. You will find bridal shops and tuxedo stores, doctor caterers, wedding coordinators, travel agents, florists, wedding cake designers, photographers, country clubs and other venues and many other vendors showcasing their goods and services.There is usually a door charge for attending, generally between $5-15.  Many shows have great door prizes and giveaways.

Things to do at a bridal show: Meet vendors, cake tastings, food tastings, virtual tours of wedding venues, see beautiful wedding dresses. Whether you’re in the beginning of your wedding planning or just tying up the last few details, you’re sure to find an afternoon at a bridal show worth your time!

Are Bridal Fairs worth attending?  Yes!  In just 3-4 hours, you have the chance to meet and ask questions of so many wedding professionals that would take you days or even weeks if you had to schedule individual appointments or consultations.  You won't be able to have long discussions with each vendor at a bridal show, but you are able to get a feel for their style and personality, see great examples of their work, see samples of different bridal gown collections and even do tastings from many caterers!  You can then choose which photographer or caterer, etc you'd like to schedule a personal consultation with and discuss your wedding dreams in detail.

Don't be afraid to discuss general prices with the vendors you meet.  You will meet vendors from all budget categories, so there is something for everyone.  Also, many vendors have show specials.  If you are ready to make quick decisions, take advantage of those!

When are the bridal expos?  Bridal show season is going on right now!  January thru April, there are shows happening nearly every weekend.  There is definitely one going on somewhere near you, so check the web and bridal show magazines for events and schedules.  In the Fall, September and October, you'll see another round of shows scheduled, although not as many .

Who can attend the shows?  Everyone!  We've seen entire families, friends, bridesmaids, etc.  Definitely bring the future groom!  It's a great way to get the guys involved, let them just wander and absorb all the ideas that are available.
